Hello and greetings to all of you. May you have a nice day ahead. I guess I have to start with what motivated me go to law school in the first place. Truth to be told, I exhibited lawyer-esque qualities since I was young. Just kidding. I liked to be in control and was competitive. I enjoyed arguing and always wanted to win. I was also a smartass who would take a stand of any poorly worded statement. All this resulted in many people telling me, sarcastically, that I should become a lawyer. Okay, some of these is not true. I made it up.

Law. I can agree that it is a very versatile education. In law schools, you dont do much learn the law as you learn how to study it, & that requires learning how to analyze informations, think critically & learn new terms quickly. While not all areas of law are created equal in terms of how interesting they are, I find that there is a connection between how interesting an area of law is & how morally questionable it is. My favorite might be contract law or civil litigation, I personally found both these fields to be pretty interesting & could see myself being able to do some good, Amin.

Why?

I think it is necessary to know a bit about our laws to understand our history and how we got to be the society we are today. It also helps that people understand about that our experiment in democracy is not foreshadow to be permanently, successful, and other far less optimistic future outcomes are possible. Knowledge of the laws puts our history and our very rights into context.

Well, watching TV Shows such as Suits, Law & Order, Criminal Minds, NCIS, CSI and many more certainly helped me better to understand about how this kind of field works. Of course, I would want to emulate the success of Harvey Specter and Jessica Pearson #sheismyfavoritecharacter but then, after looking at law as a viable career opportunity, I realized that the field of Law is so much more than that.

Also, I watched this documentary about the experiences of a group of people when driving around town and how they are getting pulled over. The point of this is not to side with any particular race/political group/people, but it is to show that injustices happen in our world. Yes it is. And it is this area of life where good lawyers are needed.

So if anyone should become a lawyer, it should be to make meaningful contributions to daily life and fighting for the less fortunate, no matter what it is. Wow, I managed to write things like these. May the odds be ever if our favor.

Love, Syfka
